Upstairs at The Orchard the felines have free rein but downstairs is the dog’s domain, separated by a child-gate so never the twain shall meet!

The Hairy Bear dog was going bonkers the other evening, it took me a few minutes to work out why.  I checked for intruders but the front garden was empty.  Following the Hairy One’s gaze I looked up to see Reg, one of the household’s three cats, on the roof.  To avoid a confrontation with his canine nemesis he likes to use the open landing window to come and go. Reg stared down at us with a look of alarm and froze, perhaps he thought that by standing perfectly still he would become invisible?!  Confused or bored by this tactic, The Hair Bear Dog ambled over to sit by the gate where she waited for passing dogs to bark at.
